At Lucy Learning, learning is a process of constant discovery. The Keyboard Basics course aims at providing a strong foundation for acquiring clarity of concepts of Steady Beat, Rhythm, Tempo, Pitch, Volume and Note Values building the foundation for any music student, who wants to learn any instrument. The student develops listening, reading & playing skills with an exploratory outlook in addition to acquiring knowledge. This course is designed for absolute beginners in music who by the end of the course would have developed a genuine interest in learning the keyboard and advancing themselves to the next course. The course is divided into three modules plus trinity songs. And the student will learn how to read music as staff notation and also builds sight-reading skills.
- Make student acquainted to White & Black Keys on the Keyboard with all the Alphabets

- Basics of staff notation
- Finger exercise with different values (whole note, half note, quarter note)

When the student upgrades from the basics to the Grade 1 Course, they would have reached a commendable level to learn how to play and perform simple melodies, songs with the help of reading Staff Notation for both hands etc. The course is divided into three modules giving them a bundle of learning which includes the techniques of piano playing, music theory etc. Through this online course that spans over 24 weeks, the students will be able to express their musical ideas and feelings, use their creativity, imagination and intuition for the pieces and songs they learn, develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of the instrument as well.
- Students will be able to map music notations to the instrument and see how the notes are placed on the keyboard
- The students will gain understanding on Music theory, in terms of reading sheet music and various music-related terms that we apply to enhance our performance skills
- Skills on the techniques of piano playing will be developed where in the students will learn Major scales, and chords
- Sight reading and Hand independence will also be focused upon to enhance their performance
- Will learn how to build a scale and chord
