Everyone’s got a voice but for that voice to be melodious and awesome, it needs mentoring and training. Lucy Learning has an expert panel of instructors for our western vocal music courses. They will be by your side covering all the basics of singing, such as body awareness, correct breathing and technique, rhythm, stage presentation etc. This course is for beginners wishing to pursue vocal art and prepares the young learner for further ventures in music.

In the first half of this level, the student learns and imbibes advanced harmonic concepts such as church modes and seventh chords as well as advanced rhythmic concepts such as odd metres. Additionally, they will familiarise with the rhythmic, melodic and harmonic idioms of jazz music and learn about its components and evolution.
In the second half of the level, they will work on exercises that will help build stamina and improve their command over breath support, sound projection, dynamics, embellishments, vibrato, and register switches. They will be introduced to the ballad style of singing and would also go on to learn how to phrase and deliver lyrics at slower tempos. Lastly, they will be mentored and encouraged to find their own style, sound and aesthetic.
